1987 - 2017 FREELANCE MUSICIAN for 30 years
This summer Gerhard Gruber is celebrating his 30th anniversary of being a Freelance Musician. After teaching piano for 13 years and already working for theatre as composer and musician since 1983, he started his new freelance life in summer 1987.
As theatre musician in "How much, Schatzi?" (Projekttheater Vorarlberg) and in "Hennir" (Isabel Karajan)

Still being active in the theatre branch, in 1988 he started to accompany silent movies. First working for both theatre and silent movies, since 2011 Gerhard works only as silent movie pianist.
After just playing in Austria for silent movies for many years , Gerhard is travelling around the world since 2005, with his repertoire of about 600 movies.About 540.000 km he travelled only for performances outside of Europe - with a lot of enthusiasm and fun.
